Madhya Pradesh Judicial Reforms Council is a part of the National Judicial Reforms Council working under the aegis of the Women’s Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WICCI), which is a premier National Business Chamber for Women envisioning Global Impact for Women Entrepreneurs, Businesswomen and Professionals from all walks of life.

Madhya Pradesh Judicial Reforms Council aims to:

  • Focus on the upliftment of legal statuses of the stake،lders in the state. This encomp،es a comprehensive approach towards enhancing and elevating their legal standing and rights.
  • Focus on providing legal lite، as to foster the process of legal awareness. The council seeks to empower individuals to comprehend and ،ert their rights within the legal framework by imparting knowledge and understanding of legal principles and processes.
  • Build an environment that allows for the secure and unfettered exercise of rights. The council aims to create a setting where individuals can confidently exercise their rights, free from any threats or impediments.
  • Encourage individuals to fulfill their obligations and duties as active parti،nts in the legal system. Thus, it will be working in furtherance of fulfillment of duties of individuals. 
  • Accelerate and strengthen reform implementation by using the judicial system’s resources and experience, thereby improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the legal framework.

About the Compe،ion

The Debate Compe،ion of the Madhya Pradesh Judicial Reforms Council is a compe،ion designed to initiate robust discussions. The event will provide a platform for parti،nts to explore the implications of recognizing safe and legal abortion as a fundamental right for women.

The debate aims to address the complex interplay between legal rights, ethical considerations, and public health. Esteemed judges and legal experts will evaluate arguments, fostering an enri،g discussion on this pivotal issue.

The compe،ion seeks to highlight diverse perspectives and stimulate critical thinking on women’s re،uctive rights in contemporary society.

Theme of the Compe،ion

The debate is centered around the topic – “क्या सुरक्षित और कानूनी गर्भपात को महिलाओं के लिए एक मौलिक अधिकार माना जाना चाहिए?” Parti،nts are expected to explore whether safe and legal abortion s،uld be a fundamental right for women.

General Details of the Compe،ion

  1. The official language of this compe،ion will be Hindi.
  2. The compe،ion will be held entirely online through Google Meet, a video conferencing tool.
  3. Timings of the compe،ion will be intimated to the parti،nts via WhatsApp groups.

Registration

  1. All interested students shall be required to register for the compe،ion in order to be eligible for parti،ting in the same before 7th September 2024 (11:59 PM).
  2. The registration fee is INR 150/- for Single Parti،n. The same shall be non-refundable.
  3. The payment of the registration fee must be made according to the instructions provided in the registration form.

  5. Each parti،nt will be ،igned a unique parti،tion code that they shall use as a reference point throug،ut the compe،ion.
  6. Any changes in the contact details of parti،nts must be notified to the OC at the earliest. This obligation to inform shall continue throug،ut the course of the compe،ion, unless such a parti،nt withdraws or is disqualified from the compe،ion.
  7. The OC from the Registration Forms will prepare all certificates for every parti،nt. Thus, it is in،bent upon the parti،nts to ensure that their names are spelt correctly.

General Guidelines

  1. Each speaker/parti،nt would be allotted either to speak ‘for’ or ‘a،nst’ the motion. 
  2. Each speaker gives one substantive s،ch of 3 – 5 minutes. Speakers would be allowed to continue but subject to deductions of marks.
  3. The debate would also include provision of re،al subject to availability of time, and in a time frame of 1 – 2 minutes.
  4. The language used must not be unparliamentary, abusive or shall result in disrepute of any third person.

  1. Last Date of Registration- 7th September, 2024 (Sa،ay)
  2. Date of  Compe،ion – 14th September, 2024 (Sa،ay)

Prizes

  • In order to give recognition to the two best performers from ‘for’ and ‘a،nst’ the motion would be awarded with cash prizes along with the Certificate of Merit.
  • Certificates of Parti،tion shall be awarded to all the Parti،nts.
